O.D. Education and Training
The profession of optometry is dedicated to preserving sight. The eight-year college and postgraduate program leading to the Doctor of Optometry degree has been enhanced to include extensive course work and clinical training in the following areas: Pharmacology Neurology Pathology Ocular disease diagnosis and treatment

Rodney W. Bellows, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Bellows retired from active practice August 1, 2008. Although he will be available for consultation in the administration of the practice, he is not seeing patients. His patient's records are maintained by Advanced Optometry and these patients are welcome to see Dr. Myers, McDonald, or Johnston. They will continue his tradition of providing excellent eyecare and optometric services. Dr. Bellows thanks the community and his patients for their support, loyalty and friendship for thirty eight years of practice in Cadillac. He and his wife Mary plan to travel and spend more time with their grandchildren.

Randall E. Myers, O.D., F.A.A.O.
A graduate of Indiana University College of Optometry, Dr. Myers joined the practice in 1976. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Michigan Optometric Association and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Locally he has served as president of the Cadillac Boosters Club and Cadillac Rotary Club, receiving the Distinguished Rotarian Award. As a member of the Cadillac Methodist Church, Dr. Myers has served on many boards and is a choir member. He volunteers as a soccer coach and received the Friend of Education Award for many years for teaching eye anatomy and vision care in area schools.

Richard L. McDonald, O.D.
After graduating from Pine River High School, Dr. McDonald served in the U.S. Navy for twelve years. He joined the practice in 1999, having graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Michigan Optometric Association, and a 2000 graduate of the Cadillac Leadership program. After being away from the area for nearly twenty years, Dr. McDonald, his wife Sherry (also a PRHS graduate), and their three children are happy to be “back home." His family is very involved in the youth sports program in the LeRoy area.

Amanda L. Johnston, O.D.
After graduating from Azle High School in Texas, Dr. Johnston attended Baylor University and graduated in August 2001. After college, she met and married her husband Jason, a Michigan State University graduate from St. Joseph, Michigan. Dr. Johnston graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry in May 2007, and is excited to start her career at Advanced Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Michigan Optometric Association and is a 2008 graduate of the Cadillac Leadership Program. Dr. Johnston, Jason, and their son Vance are excited to call Cadillac home.

Support Staff
Our superb staff is well trained and ready to serve your every eyecare need. Brenda, Lorie, Sandra, and Kristin schedule your appointments, greet you on arrival, handle your billing, and answer your business questions. Feel free to call them any time.

Technical Staff
Our technical staff is trained to help the doctors with your tests, help you with your eyewear and lens selections, dispense and adjust your glasses, or help with your contact lens needs. Carol is a certified optician. Wanda and Charity are certified optometric technicians. Julie, Glenda, Kellie, and Ann are experienced optometric assistants. Together our staff has a wealth of knowledge in the eyecare field. Feel free to ask for their help and advice.
